The client is an independent online streetwear brand from Australia, focusing on a dark streetwear style and targeting the trendy consumer market, including Asia. The brand previously launched a Mahakala-themed printed T-shirt, visually distinctive with elements such as a skull crown, third eye, and fangs.
After gaining stable attention for its apparel products, the client wanted to further expand its accessory line under the same theme: allowing consumers to purchase not just a printed T-shirt, but also a matching necklace to create a more complete and recognizable outfit.
The client's existing accessory sourcing primarily consisted of stainless steel trendy pendants. This addition of a sterling silver product line represents both a brand upgrade and a new product test requiring careful risk management. In initial discussions, the client anticipated producing 20-40 pieces as a potential bulk order. However, due to the higher material and processing costs of sterling silver compared to stainless steel, their biggest concern was that mass production might lead to inventory and financial strain if the finished product's three-dimensionality, distressed finish, or proportions didn't match the brand's IP.

For overseas trendy brands, a new product goes through multiple stages from concept to sales, including sampling, shipping, content shooting, product placement, and consumer feedback. Based on the image of Davao (the Black God) on the client's existing themed T-shirts, AphroSilver developed the design around "how to transform clothing patterns into three-dimensional silver jewelry." The focus wasn't on replicating a flat pattern, but on breaking down the visual focal points of the print into structures suitable for metal sculpting:
● Using a skull crown, the third eye, and fangs as key identifying features to ensure the pendant maintains consistency with the clothing pattern.
● Enhance facial contours through 3D sculpting, creating clear tonal gradations when worn and photographed.
● Retain the sharp silhouette required for a dark streetwear style, avoiding excessive softening that would diminish the brand's original personality.
● Determine the wearing size based on the actual usage scenario of the clothing and accessories, ensuring the pendant has presence without overshadowing the garment.
The value of this step lies in the fact that the customer doesn't receive a piece of silver jewelry that's "similar" to the clothing, but rather a complementary product that serves the same theme and participates in the brand's visual expression.
2. Using CAD Drawings to Secure Dimensions and Details in Advance
